The celebrity life is an interesting one. With their the glam and lifestyle, celebrities can fascinate audiences with their opulent lifestyles and larger-than-life personas in addition to their skill. However, some celebrities have a reputation for having interesting demands behind the scenes, some of which are frequently found in their contracts. These weird demands—which range from absurd dressing room needs to particular culinary preferences—offer an intriguing look into the peculiarities of entertainers.

This article lists of some the most unusual demands made by famous people in their contracts, illuminating the extent to which they will go to preserve their comfort and uniqueness in the public eye.

Paul McCartney says no to animals, yes to plants

Paul McCartney is an ardent supporter of animal rights. The legendary bassist for the Beatles has a strict vegetarian lifestyle that has a significant influence on his show contracts.

Among other things, he requests that no animal products be used in his backstage or dressing areas, even in the food or furnishings. Sir Paul insists in contracts that his limos be free of leather, that all lights be dimmable halogen bulbs, and that his dressing room be filled only with fabrics that aren’t derived from animals (cotton, denim, velvet, etc.).

Beyonce’s no Coca-Cola policy

For the prominent cultural figure of the 21st century her requests are a hotel room that is always 77 degrees Fahrenheit and Coca Cola is strictly out of her sight. She can only be seen with Pepsi products as a result of a contractual agreement. She also requests rose-scented candles and chicken thighs that have been generously spiced with cayenne pepper.

Jennifer Lopez and the all-white trailer

It’s well known that “a Diva Latina” has an extravagant side. Despite being one of the most hardworking women in entertainment, her demands are fascinating.

It’s reported that in 2001, J-Lo agreed to participate in a music video for a charity song that benefited the African AIDS program—but only if certain requirements were met.

The singer cum actress requested a trailer where everything including the candles, drapes, and flowers, had to be white, in exchange for her ninety minutes of labour to create the video. Her insistence on having her coffee stirred counter-clockwise is the silliest thing about her rider.

Rihanna- Blue curtains and candles

Rihanna seems to be another celebrity who is crazy about candles. Rihanna, who is now focused on her brands, is a person who values her comfort greatly and is willing to pay a high price for it.

For the singe, her dressing room must always have an animal print rug, blue silk drapes or black curtains, and specific candles

Jay-Z’s obsession with 7 rooms and lots of drinks

The American rapper Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, renowned for having contributed to other artistes’ success. When it comes to his rider, the record producer, and businessman has a lot of demands. First of all, it appears that he and his wife, Beyoncé, do not adhere to the same “Pepsi Only” rule.

Jay-Z, however, requests seven dressing rooms, a temperature of 77 degrees, a big sofa, 48 bottles of Fiji water, six cans cokes, six Red Bull cans, and six vitamin water bottles.

George Clooney’s all work and no play request

American actor and filmmaker comes from a family filled with artistic talents. Clooney’s love for health and fitness seems to have led him to request a basketball court constructed next to his trailer. Not only that but beach house as well. Both cost $200,000 despite having little screen time, in his role as Matt Kowalski, in the movie Gravity.

Britney Spears likes to fill her belly before her concerts

Like all Hollywood stars, the ‘Baby One More Time’ hitmaker has requests. For Britney Spears, twelve chocolate bars, ten pieces of fried chicken, potato salad, and six cases of Diet Coke must be delivered to her trailer before her shows.

Although the cuisine isn’t particularly odd, it’s still a brave decision to consume so much right before a performance.

Mary J. Blige’s obsession with new toilets seats

This one is definitely one for the books as its quite strange.

When she’s on set, Mary J. Blige isn’t seen as a demanding performer. The only bizarre thing about her request is that she wants a brand-new toilet seat installed before she gets there.

She has requested it in every city where she has performed because it is her most critical need. On one of her tours, she stopped in 36 different cities; just think of the number of toilet sets.

Cher and her wigs

Talk about a woman and her wigs! Cher even goes so far as to reserve an entire room specifically for her wigs. Cher loves wearing wigs; they’re a part of her appearance. So perhaps they do deserve their own space. Her two other peculiar demands are that she only uses black cups and that she always has access to aloe vera tissues.

Celine Dion the soft-life Queen

What a pleasure it will be working on Celine’s team because she ensures premium comfort. A private jet, 77 first-class hotel rooms for her production team, a presidential suite for her and her son, and a required temperature of 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit are just a few of the many items Celine Dion lists as must-haves when she goes on tour. Celine Dion is willing to pay the price to ensure that she and her family have the best conditions possible.

Fun fact, she’s known to throw rather incredible tantrums if she doesn’t get what she wants.
