Qatar 2022 writes musical history: The first-ever FIFA World Cup Official Soundtrack is launched

Qatar 2022 is an edition of premieres for the FIFA World Cup and that has been proven time and time again from all points of view, starting from the first edition of the tournament to be hosted in the Middle East, to the first edition of the tournament to be organised in wintertime, but also the maiden FIFA World Cup to have air cooling systems included in the stadiums to create the perfect setting and climate for games to be played in.

There are many premieres in the competition, such as the introduction of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Official Soundtrack, rather than an official anthem of the competition, with plenty of stalwarts of the music scene joining forces to create the perfect experience for fans at Qatar 2022.

The first single released from the 2022 FIFA World Cup Official Soundtrack was “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)”, an uplifting track featuring Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha, a play on R&B and reggae rhythms that played a central role in the final draw for the group phase of the tournament.

The second song released was a team-up between two well-known artists in the world, Ozuna and Gims, as the two released “Arhbo” on August 19, with Gims becoming the first French-speaking artist to produce and perform a World Cup soundtrack.

Now, as the competition draws closer to its ending, the grand conclusion being the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, scheduled on 18 December, in the Lusail Iconic Stadium, the whole 2022 FIFA World Cup Official Soundtrack has been released.

FIFA Sound has spearheaded the launch of the first-ever multi-song collection to be created specifically for football’s biggest global celebration and the released album includes the anthems that have set the tone for the first-ever FIFA World Cup edition organised in the Middle East.

The album was released by Universal Arabic Music, Universal Music Group and Republic Records and amasses a variety of genres, with world-renowned stars on the cover.

Jung Kook from BTS, the universal sensation of Korean pop, who has also been present at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, spearheads the long array of artists, with Nicki Minaj, Maluma, Myriam Fares, Trinidad Cardona, Davido, AISHA, Ozuna, Gims, Lil Baby, Tears for Fears, Balqees, Nora Fatehi, Manal, Rahma Riad, Nasser Al Kubaisi, Ayed and Haneen Hussein also completing the 2022 FIFA World Cup Official Soundtrack.

The Soundtrack is packed with uplifting anthems, perfect to listen to both in a fully-packed stadium or in the comfort of one’s home, showcasing some of the brightest international artists, while also donning the cap to the legacy of Qatari music, with domestic singers present on the album.

From the electric collaboration of Nicki Minaj, Maluma and Myriam Fares for Tukoh Taka, the first-ever Official FIFA Fan Festival Anthem, to Dreamers, BTS star Jung Kook’s inspirational song that lit up the Opening Ceremony, the tracks mirror the worldwide excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup.
