The voice of Jimmy Stewart, the It’s a Wonderful Life actor has made a comeback with the help of AI. Some 26 years after his death, Jimmy can be heard reading a fresh Christmas bedtime story on the Calm app.

The Calm app which helps individuals to rest from their days of struggles and stress at night, and provides some sleep stories for a good night’s sleep, expressed immense gratitude to the family and friends of Jimmy Stewart for permitting them to continue his legacy after death on Instagram.

This is confirmed in a Calm statement available to CNN when his daughter, Kelly Stewart Harcourt acknowledged the power of technology to resuscitate her father’s legacy.

“It’s amazing what technology can do and wonderful to see Dad’s legacy live on this holiday season in new ways, like helping people find restful sleep and sweet dreams,” she said.

The company also highlighted that the bedtime story using Stewart’s voice is a festive addition to Calm’s series of “sleep stories,” which are meant to help users wind down from their day so they can fall into a restful sleep.

“It’s A Wonderful Sleep Story is a new, but timeless tale of hope and kindness, brought to life by Jimmy Stewart’s iconic voice,” Calm wrote in an Instagram post.

“Well, hello. I’m James Stewart, but, well, you can call me Jimmy. Tonight, I’m going to tell you a story. It’s a heartwarming story of love, of loss, of hope and joy but most of all, it’s a wonderful sleep story,” Stewart’s AI-generated voice says in the opening of the bedtime story.

Jimmy Stewart is widely known for his role in the 1946 Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life. As a businessman, George Bailey in the movie, he decides to end it all on Christmas Eve in times of distress.

He also starred in Rear Window, Vertigo, The Shop Around The Corner, and Harvey among others before his demise on July 2, 1997, at age 85.
