Established in 2004 as a part of the Qatar Foundation, QSTP aims to foster a thriving culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration by supporting start-ups, established businesses, and research institutions. With a focus on four key sectors – energy, environment, health sciences, and information and communication technologies – QSTP is dedicated to positioning Qatar as a global leader in scientific and technological advancements.

Located within Qatar Foundation’s Education City, an academic centre that hosts prestigious universities, research institutions, and technological centres, QSTP is part of a unique ecosystem designed to leverage synergies across disciplines and sectors to bring new technologies into the global marketplace. Spanning 45,000 square metres, QSTP offers state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive ecosystem that encourages creativity, experimentation, and growth. The park includes laboratories, conference rooms, incubation and acceleration spaces, and various recreational facilities to foster a healthy work-life balance. The park is only a 20-minute drive from the West Bay area and 20 kilometres from Hamad International Airport.

The idea is to address national needs while generating global impact, placing Qatar at the forefront of scientific research and technological advancement worldwide. It operates across four overarching themes: Energy, Environment, Health Sciences, and Information & Communication Technologies.

Energy: With an emphasis on renewable and sustainable energy sources, QSTP facilitates research and development in solar power, energy efficiency, and smart grid technologies.

Environment: QSTP supports projects that address environmental challenges, such as water management, waste management, and sustainable urban planning.

Health Sciences: The park nurtures advancements in medical research, biotechnology, and healthcare delivery, with a particular focus on personalised medicine and telemedicine.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT): QSTP fosters innovation in areas such as cybersecurity, big data, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

QSTP offers a range of services and support for both start-ups and established businesses. Qatar Science & Technology Park provides a free zone and technology park that hosts leading global tech companies, mentors and support network for startups.  Several leading international technology companies and research centres already call QSTP home demonstrating its reputation as a global technology development hub. This free zone offers the following advantages: quick setup, no import fees, 100% ownership, no export duties, tax incentives and no restrictions.

The Incubation Centre provides start-ups with mentorship, funding opportunities, and access to a network of experts and industry leaders. Rising tech ventures has a value chain of acceleration, incubation, and funding programs. On the other hand, the Research and Development Collaboration Scheme facilitates collaboration between QSTP-based companies and international research institutions.

So, if you are a tech start-up looking for the best opportunities or to expand your business, from climate change to food security, artificial intelligence to cybersecurity, and integrated healthcare to precision medicine, Qatar is the place that can help shape the future of your business.
