2023 Qatar Open Doha WTA keeps players’ eyes on the prize

The 2023 Qatar Open Doha WTA that began on Monday 13th, and runs to tomorrow, February 18th, pit the world’s best female tennis players in a fierce battle for title money and all-important points at the International Tennis and Squash complex in Doha.

The WTA 500 Doha tournament has provided a great spectacle. Iga Swiatek is the defending champion and the first-seeded player at the event, and she’ll certainly want to win top prize of 470 points and $120,150 for the champion.
The runner-up in Doha will get 305 points and $74,161, while the two defeated semi-finalists will each be rewarded with 186 points and $43,322.

The 2023 Qatar Total Open, also known as Qatar TotalEnergies Open, is a professional women’s tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. This is the 21st edition of the event as a WTA 500 tournament on the 2023 WTA Tour.

The event hosted players such as Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Caroline Garcia, all vying to make it at the very least to the quarterfinals, for which players received 100 points and $21,075.

For the first-round loss, each player received 1 point and $8,310 and those that qualified for the second round were awarded with 55 points and $11,500. Check out the full prize money and points overview below.

Semi-finals resume today at 4.30pm with Greek player Sakkari against American Pegula, followed by semi-finalist and defending champion from Poland, Swiatek against Russian-born Kudermetova. May the best woman win!
