Floyd Mayweather has been sued for allegedly assaulting a member of his security staff. This legal case, filed two years after the alleged event, accuses a bodyguard linked with the renowned boxer of violence.

Martinez is suing Mayweather for more than $3 million after an altercation erupted when the bodyguard attempted to confiscate his mobile phone.

Police investigations uncovered inconsistencies between Martinez’s account and witness accounts. Martinez seeks $1.5 million in general damages, $500,000 in medical expenditures, and $300,000 in earnings loss.

The event occurred in 2022, when Mayweather and his entourage, known as the Mayweather Money Team, entered the Yard House restaurant near the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The appearance of the boxer drew a crowd, resulting in a commotion.

Eduardo Martinez was one of the observers, using his mobile to record footage of the Mayweather Money Team. Martinez claimed that his actions attracted the notice of the boxer and his security personnel. In his lawsuit against Mayweather, Martinez claims that a member of the boxer’s crew physically assaulted him.

According to the claim, Mayweather’s security allegedly participated in actions that were “negligent, careless, intentional, malicious, and/or physically invasive,” causing Martinez to fall to the ground.

Martinez further claims that the Yard House staff failed to intervene, allowing Mayweather’s squad to commit the assault. He claims that he was terrified for his life, health, and safety during the meeting.

This is not Mayweather’s first legal action related to alleged assaults. A32-year-old man filed a police report alleging that Mayweather became irritated after being asked for a photograph a day before the Super Bowl.

Reports by Daily Mail stated that Ricco Kimborough alleged Mayweather assaulted him, but Mayweather denied any physical contact. In the end, no charges were brought against Mayweather for this event.
