The Pentagon acknowledged reports of attacks on a US warship and commercial vessels in the Red Sea on Sunday December 3.

The Houthi group in Yemen claimed responsibility for drone and missile strikes on two Israeli vessels, namely the Unity Explorer and Number Nine.

According to a spokesperson from the Houthi military, the ships were targeted after disregarding warnings, with the attacks being attributed to the Yemeni people’s demands and calls from Islamic nations to support the Palestinian cause.

The incident follows a series of attacks in Middle Eastern waters since the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Hamas on October 7.
