Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the 19th session of the Korea-Middle East Cooperation Forum scheduled to take place in Doha on November 6, 2023.
This annual forum, inaugurated in 2003, alternates its host between the Republic of Korea and Middle Eastern nations, and regularly features prominent figures from both the public and private sectors. The upcoming 19th session will mark the first time it is held in Doha and will revolve around the theme of “Korea and the Middle East: Strengthening Cooperation and Forging Partnerships.”
The forum encompasses three distinct sessions, each sessions featuring speakers and experts from both the Republic of Korea and the Middle East. The first session explores the “Future Prospects for Korea and the Middle East,” while the second session will delve into “Enhancing Economic Partnerships in the Era of Green Transformation.” The third session is dedicated to discussions regarding “The Future of Humanitarian and Cultural Bonds between Korea and the Middle East.” Eminent political, economic, and academic figures from South Korea and Middle Eastern countries are expected to participate in this event, the list being announced soon.
This year’s forum is significant in light of the collaboration between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea, as well as their engagement with countries in the Middle East and North Africa across various domains, including politics, economics, diplomacy, and culture.
