Qatar Airways wins World’s Best Business Class at the Skytrax 2023 World Airline Awards
Qatar Airways was recognised at the Skytrax 2023 World Airline Awards, receiving the coveted title of the World’s Best Business Class for the tenth time. The ceremony took place at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace during the Paris Air Show on 20 June. The awards were received by His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, and Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer of Hamad International Airport (HIA).
The recognition for World’s Best Business Class reflects the consistent commitment of Qatar Airways to providing high-quality service and a unique travel experience for its passengers.
Qatar Airways’ Al Mourjan Lounge, located at Hamad International Airport, also received awards, recognised as the World’s Best Business Class Lounge. The lounge was additionally commended for its dining experience, winning the award for the World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining.
Additionally, Qatar Airways was awarded the title of Best Airline in the Middle East, marking the eleventh time it has received this recognition since the inception of the awards.
His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, expressed his satisfaction at the results: “Receiving the World’s Best Business Class award at this year’s Skytrax World Airline Awards is an acknowledgement of the collective effort within the airline to deliver an excellent customer experience. The three additional awards we have received are testament to Qatar Airways’ efforts in the sector, and to our ongoing commitment to innovation.”
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, offered his perspective, stating, “Qatar Airways is highly appreciated by customers, and these top awards in 2023 demonstrate that their Business Class, both onboard flights and in the airports, is well regarded by passengers. Qatar Airways also secured a close second place finish in the overall global rating, further affirming its standing as the Best Airline in the Middle East for 2023.”
The World Airline Awards are known for their independence and impartiality. Introduced in 1999, they serve to provide a comprehensive customer satisfaction study on a global scale, with results determined by the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey worldwide.
Qatar Airways, a multiple award-winning airline, was named ‘Airline of the Year’ at the 2022 World Airline Awards. It operates flights to over 160 destinations worldwide through its Doha hub, Hamad International Airport, which was voted as the ‘World’s Best Airport’ in 2021 and 2022 by Skytrax. This year, Hamad International Airport was ranked as the second-best airport globally and was recognised as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for the ninth consecutive year, also receiving the title for ‘World’s Best Airport Shopping’.
