Have you ever been to the Louvre in Paris, ready to catch a glimpse of the iconic Mona Lisa?
Imagine waiting in line – which as you might know can take hours…, eager to see the masterpiece, only to find out this weekend that it’s off-limits! Why, you ask?
Two daring activists, in the midst of France’s farmers’ protests, sprayed pumpkin soup all over Da Vinci’s painting.
Luckily the Mona Lisa is a survivor. That woman has seen quite some food thrown her way, like in 2022 when a visitor tossed cake in her direction. The painting has always emerged unscathed, thanks to safety glass installed in the ’50s. Back in the day, the painting was damaged by a visitor who poured acid on it.
