Has Brexit been good for the UK? An opinion poll asking exactly that has revealed that most British voters see leaving the EU as a huge failure for the country.

In the poll by insight research agency Opinium, undertaken to mark the third anniversary of the UK leaving the EU single market and customs union, 35% indicate that their finances have been affected negatively by Brexit.

The expected gains of being out of the European Union, like better finance and trade advantages, haven’t materialized.

Regarding National Health Service (NHS), a major reason for many to vote to leave the EU, only 9% of the participants believe Brexit has been of help whereas 47% responded in the negative.

Additionally 63% of the people believe Brexit is the reason for the ongoing cost of living crisis and a catalyst to inflation despite government promises that it was going to boost the economy.

All in all only 22 % of the voters believe that leaving the EU has been good for the UK.

The poll shows a clear gap between what the Leave Vote group led by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised and the perceived outcome of Brexit.
