FIFA has announced that it has received four expressions of interest from member associations (MAs) across four different confederations to host the prestigious FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™. The submissions highlight the global appeal of the competition, with the remaining two confederations hosting this year’s Women’s World Cup™.

The Royal Belgian Football Association, the Royal Netherlands Football Association, and the German Football Association have jointly submitted their expression of interest, while the Brazilian Football Association, the South African Football Association, and a joint submission from the U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Association have also thrown their hats into the ring.

FIFA will now forward the Bidding Agreement to the interested MAs, with a deadline of 19th May 2023 for them to confirm their participation in the bidding process. The agreement ensures that the key principles of the process are observed, in what FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura has described as “the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

Samoura expressed her excitement at the level of interest from MAs with strong footballing traditions, stating, “We are thrilled by the expressions of interest received, not least because they come from member associations representing four confederations, thus confirming the consistent popularity of women’s football across the world.”

The FIFA Congress is set to make the final decision on the host(s) of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ through a public vote on 17th May 2024. Further details on the bidding process can be found in the overview document and Bidding Regulations provided by FIFA.
