The tale of Luna Luna Amusement Park is like something out of a fairytale. Imagine an enchanting park filled with the masterpieces of Basquiat, Haring, Lichtenstein, and Dalí. It’s almost too incredible to believe, isn’t it? Originally, this extraordinary park was meant to make its debut in Hamburg, Germany, a departure from the usual big city art scenes. Sadly, just three months after its grand opening, legal troubles led to the park’s closure, and its priceless treasures fell into obscurity. That is until the Canadian rapper Drake came to the rescue, breathing new life into Luna Luna.

Now, Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy has found a new home in a vast warehouse on the edge of Downtown Los Angeles. Here, visitors can explore a wonderland of unique sculptures created by the 20th-century art elite. From David Hockney to Kenny Scharf, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of iconic artists. According to the event’s organizer, André Heller, bringing these artists together fulfills his childhood dream.

Interestingly, the sculptures are not meant for riding, as they do not meet current safety standards. Instead, they stand as ghostly remnants of a bygone era, each with its own captivating story. Highlights include Hockney’s Enchanted Tree, a vibrant structure with a musical accompaniment by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Dalí Dome, a surreal space filled with mirrored spheres that capture the essence of the Spanish artist.

But the real standouts are the massive ferris wheel designed by Basquiat and the merry-go-round by Haring. The luminous wheel is adorned with Basquiat’s iconic artworks and is set to the music of the legendary Miles Davis. Meanwhile, Haring’s merry-go-round features rhythmic figures brought to life as the carousel spins, showcasing the signature style of the esteemed artist.

For art enthusiasts and those seeking an extraordinary journey through time, Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy is open to the public in Los Angeles and plans to continue its global tour. For tickets and further information, visit the amusement park’s website. Don’t miss this chance to step into an extraordinary world of art and fantasy!
