Nigerian honoured with prestigious US Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award
In a remarkable recognition of his commitment to youth development and empowerment, Nigerian global advocate, Owolabi Williams, has been honoured with the prestigious U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
The news was shared through a statement issued by Williams' Publicist, Ijeoma Thomas-Odia, on January 15 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Williams received the honours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day that symbolizes justice, community service, and empowerment.
Owolabi Williams is the Founder and President of the Boys Lead Foundation. He is a global advocate that is empowering boys and young men, driving positive change and creating opportunities for their personal growth and success.
The Foundation, under his leadership, has expanded its reach and implemented various impactful programs focusing on education, mentorship, leadership training, and community engagement.
The U.S. President's Call to Service Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest level of the President's Volunteer Service Award. The President of the United States annually bestows this honour on individuals who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime, making a difference in the lives of others.
“This prestigious award was in recognition of Williams’ unwavering dedication and significant contributions to nurturing the younger generation. Boys Lead Foundation has become a cornerstone in fostering self-reliance, volunteerism, and confidence among boys and young men, thereby equipping them to be leaders,” he was quoted by local media Vanguard.
His influence extends across seven countries and twelve cities, where he has helped shape boys and young men into future leaders.
Williams' commitment to nurturing self-reliance and leadership skills among young men has not only been recognized on a national level but has also left a lasting impact globally.
