The upgraded 2024 model of Tesla’s Model 3 is now available in the US
The latest iteration of Tesla’s Model 3 sedan, which debuted in European, Middle Eastern, and Chinese markets last autumn, has now arrived in North America. Known as “Highland” during its development phase, it brings a variety of noticeable modifications to Tesla’s popular electric sedan.
The front of the car has received an update, with a smoother hood and lower headlights that Tesla claims are designed for maximum aerodynamics. This could potentially result in increased range. Additionally, the car now comes in two new color options: stealth gray and ultra red.
Tesla’s configurator now only displays the 2024 Model 3 refresh, with two available versions instead of three as seen in other markets: a Long Range AWD model featuring dual motors and a more economical Rear-Wheel Drive option. The previous top-tier Performance model is currently not available for ordering.
The 2024 Long Range Tesla Model 3 boasts an EPA estimated range of up to 341 miles, which is a significant increase from its predecessor’s 333 miles. However, the rear-wheel model maintains a listed range of 272 miles.
While the starting price for both versions remains unchanged from last year’s models, there is one notable difference. According to Tesla’s website, the top speed for the 2024 Model 3 is listed as 125mph for both versions, compared to the 2023 rear-wheel model which reached 140mph, the Long Range at 145mph, and the Performance model at an impressive 162mph.
Tesla’s latest model boasts a number of upgrades, including acoustic glass that provides a quieter cabin, enhanced ride quality due to updated suspension tuning (a potential concern according to some), upgraded interior finishes and materials, ventilated seats, customizable ambient lighting, a brighter center touchscreen with smaller bezels for improved contrast, and an enhanced sound system with up to 17 speakers.
