The 2023 Spotify Wrapped edition reveals this year’s most streamed artists, songs and albums

Up next is the 2023 edition of Spotify Wrapped, unveiling the most popular artists, songs, and albums of the year, along with providing users special insight into their own listening habits.

This year, the streaming platform introduces new features such as a system that assigns a city based on listening habits, recorded messages from popular musicians if they feature as one of the user’s top artists, and the new AI DJ feature, guiding listeners through their personalized Wrapped.

In 2023, major female pop stars made a comeback, “sonic diversity that topped the charts”, and the toplists showcase how over 574 million people around the world listened this year.
The platform highlighted global trends including the impact of Eurovision, Gen Z’s embrace of genreless/genre-hybrid trend, the surge in Colombian enthusiasm for Mexican music, and the growth of Afrobeats as one of the fastest-growing genres on Spotify, increasing by 550% since 2017.

As confirmed by Spotify, Taylor Swift is the top global artist of 2023. Her global streams since January 1 have exceeded 26.1 billion.
