Regardless of the outcome of Saturday, May 25, 2024’s FA Cup final matchup between Manchester United and Manchester City, reports suggest that Manchester United is contemplating firing manager Erik Ten Hag.

According to reports, INEOS founder and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, plans to appoint a new manager after the domestic cup final.

Names like Mauricio Pochettino, Kierran McKenna, and Thomas Tuchel have all been rumoured for the role of new Man United Manager.

Several concerns following Ten Hag’s underwhelming second season in the English Premier League have stoked speculation over his future.

Ten Hag’s squad broke records for the most shots allowed in the Champions League group stages as they were eliminated from the competition and failed to place in the top four.

Despite signing a three-year contract in April 2022 and winning the League Cup for Manchester United, Ten Hag’s future looks uncertain.

Even if he wins the FA Cup final against Manchester City, it seems likely that INEOS, known for being savvy operators, will still part ways with him.

United’s new football ownership, INEOS, have not publicly supported Ten Hag, indicating that a string of poor performances across major competitions this season may have already influenced their decision.

The speculation surrounding Ten Hag’s future has divided opinions among fans worldwide, but regardless, Manchester United fans are expected to support their team against Manchester City on Saturday.

After the final whistle at Wembley, more questions about the manager will arise, with INEOS poised to bring in a new manager for their project.

Ipswich Football Club manager Kierran McKenna is considered one of football’s most exciting young coaches, having led his team to secure successive promotions, reaching the Premier League in under three years.

Another potential candidate is German manager Thomas Tuchel, who is available on the market after leaving Bayern Munich.

The latest addition to the list is Mauricio Pochettino, who recently parted ways with Chelsea Football Club after just one season.

Pochettino, who struggled to produce convincing performances at the start of the season, found success leading at the business end of the season and secured major wins for Chelsea.

His departure from Chelsea reportedly left many players at the club in shock.

The ongoing managers’ domino effect and speculation surrounding Manchester United is expected to intensify in the coming days as the club aims to reestablish itself as a world-class footballing institution.
