Google is working on building a new search engine powered by its novel AI technology, as reported by The New York Times. The search engine will be designed to offer users a more personalized experience by anticipating their needs. It will learn what users want to know based on their searches and offer lists of preselected options for objects to buy, information to research, and other information. The new search engine will also be more conversational, making it feel like talking to a person.

Google has put together a team of designers, engineers, and executives to work on building the new search engine. The company is ambitious about this project, and it could potentially put new AI technology in phones and homes all over the world. However, the new Google search engine is still in its early stages, and there is no timeline for when it will be released.

Google is not just working on the new search engine, but also on adding new AI-based features to its current search engine. This project is called Magi, and a team of over 160 Googlers is working full-time on it. Magi will allow searchers to complete transactions, such as buying shoes or booking flights, all while still incorporating the existing – and lucrative – Google search ads. These changes will allow searchers to answer questions about software coding and write code based on a user’s request. Google may also place an ad under the computer code answers.

In addition to Magi, Google is working on other projects, such as Google Earth’s mapping technology with help from AI and searching for music through a conversation with a chatbot. GIFI would use AI to generate images in Google Image results, and Tivoli Tutor would teach users a new language through open-ended AI text conversations. Searchalong would let users ask chatbot questions while surfing the web through Google’s Chrome browser.

Google’s spokesperson, Lara Levin, has stated that not every brainstorming or product idea leads to a launch, but the company is excited about bringing new AI-powered features to search and will share more details soon. While Google’s new search engine is still in development, it is evident that the company is working hard to reimagine the search experience and keep up with the competition.
