Doha underwent a transformative change with the World Cup Qatar 2022 in sight. The arrival of hot new restaurants in the last year is another sign the change is here to stay, long beyond the final whistle of the soccer tournament.
For those living in Doha, the additional restaurants were a very welcome luxury to further increase their quality of life. Food, glorious food!
Curiosa
Another gem is added to the empire of restaurants signed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whom connoisseurs refer to as “Jean-Georges” in Miami, LA, New York, Bahamas, London, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, São Paulo and more. Set in the Four Seasons Hotel Doha, you will receive the experience that can be expected from the establishment, from the food to the décor, and the service. Beachside of the hotel, the tiled floors and abundant plants set the tone. It might well be the hippest and most fun restaurant in town today. The Latin American-themed restaurant’s kitchen is run by chef Edgar Hurtado and as such you can relish in dishes from across the continent, from guacamole and tacos to ceviche.
Open Sun-Fri noon-4pm, 6.30pm-midnight. Four Seasons Hotel Doha, The Corniche (4494 8888).
SUSHISAMBA
Famous for its Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, SUSHISAMBA is causing quite a stir in Qatar’s district of Lusail. Located in the Waldorf Astoria in Qatar Entertainment City, the expansive beachfront dining venue will be the fifth SUSHISAMBA in the world, after the inevitable route of London, LA and more recently Dubai, yet Doha’s will be the first Beach Club of the brand’s. Indulge in dishes celebrating Peruvian ceviches, sushi, and Brazilian moqueca, amid an exquisite indoor lighting experience.
Open Sun-Wed 6pm-midnight; Thu 6pm-2am; Fri noon-2am; Sat noon-midnight. Waldorf Astoria Lusail (4456 5774).
